    SPLICEDwire is on hiatus

    Dear friends and readers,

Due to several converging circumstances, including family obligations and hitting a wall of exhaustion after 10 years of 70-hour work weeks (and more than 2,500 reviews and interviews), I'm putting SPLICEDwire and my content service on indefinite hiatus beginning September 30.

I will still be attending some screenings, as I will probably to return to film journalism -- perhaps in a new format or with a new focus -- once I've rested and my obligations are resolved.

If you would like to be notified when I return to writing about movies, please use this link to send me your email address

    Be seeing you!

    @:)

    IN THE MEANTIME...

    Here's the scoop:

This is the story of Helena (Stephanie Leonidas), a fifteen-year-old girl working for her family circus, who wishes - quite ironically - that she could run away from the circus and join real life. But such is not to be the case, as she finds herself on a strange journey into the Dark Lands, a fantastic landscape filled with giants, monkeybirds and dangerous sphinxes. On her quest to return home, Helena searches for the Mirrormask, an object of enormous power, which is her only hope of escaping the Dark Lands.
